ΩMOИT
OMONT (also known as Felice Fawn) is a newbie music producer who enjoys fucking around with programs such as Reason and Albeton for shits and giggles. It is believed that as an adolesent she was abducted from her home planet by intelligent non-human primates, who subsequently raised her within an unknown laboratory deep in the Amazonian jungle, where she was exposed to a world of witchcraft and a plethora of musical genres heaving with bass and synths.

I want to give personal thanks to Steven, who has made this venture a possibility. Without his kindness and generosity I would not be making music today.

When you add vocals, will they be your own vocals?
omont omont Said:

Yup!

Asker Anonymous Asks:
How do you pronounce 'Omont'? Om-ont? or Oh-mont? x
omont omont Said:

Om-ont.

Asker Anonymous Asks:
OMONT, are you going to sing anytime soon? :-)
omont omont Said:

Yes. :D

A week is waaay too early even to drop samples or WIPs. I know they wanna hear something and you wanna promote it, but I say keep creating and learning until youre steeped and can get any sound, rhythm, nuance you want out of it. you'll know it instantly when you've done something that must be heard.

I thought so too to be honest, but at the same time I don’t see any harm in showing people the steps you’re taking as you learn and progress. As an artist, I look back at some of my old paintings and laugh at how awful they are, but it would be a sad story if I kept them all hidden away simply because I was an amateur. I think it will be interesting to look back at the differences. :)

Reason is really confusing. I d/l it about a month ago, and I'm still trying to learn it all. Can't believe you made that song! Good work.
omont omont Said:

Tell me about it, there are so many aspects that still just look like algebra to me. (I’m awful with math.) Patience is a virtue I guess. Thank you!

Asker Anonymous Asks:
Would you consider yourself a talented musician?
omont omont Said:

Absolutely not, are you kidding haha! For now I’m just doing this for fun because I enjoy it.

I dig the vibe of the sample you put out. The eerie/irreverent/danceable sound is very 'you,' and I look forward to hearing more. :) So what's your musical background? Do you have training, or are you self-taught? And is your process more writing out chord progressions or playing by ear? At any rate, I'm glad you're sharing this side of yourself with us. Much love! x
omont omont Said:

Thank you! I have absolutely no musical background and no training, I only started using Reason and experimenting a week ago. I’ve always been obsessed with music, (as most of my followers probably already know), but I guess I always settled for listening to it, despite constant urges to create myself. I just play by ear. Much love back. <3

You say you only started making music a week ago so it must feel pretty different, how does it make you feel?

Wow. That certainly doesn't sound like a cat dying in monotone. I loved it. Can't wait to hear what you actually consider finished pieces! :)
omont omont Said:

Thank you! I can’t wait to start using vocals to be honest, it’s going to be fun I think! ^_^

Can you add what programs, devices, and equipment you use to make your music to your F.A.Q.? Pretty please?
omont omont Said:

Sure.
